Community Education & Training

CARE also provides specialised education and training on Alcohol and Other Drugs for community groups. This can take the form of resources, seminars, community forums or interactive workshops.

DRUG ARM believes firmly in supporting communities to help themselves. By providing education and training to members of the community, we are more effective in helping them long term.

Workshops are tailored to meet the needs of the community. Topics can include:
  • Community development workshops
  • Recognising drug use
  • Support available for users and families
  • Communicating with young people about drug use
  • Specific skills for working with people using drugs
  • Safer Partying strategies for parents and caregivers
  • Specific drug issues (eg Volatile Substance Misuse or chroming)
  • Managing challenging behaviours or intoxication

We can also help your community connect up with our Resource Centre as a source of ongoing resources.

Please discuss your requirements with the CARE Director
